My views on Dan Ariely's video on "Are we in control of our own decision"

Decision making plays the most important part in our life. Some decisions are taken by us and some of our decisions are influenced by people we are surrounded. The example that comes to my mind on decision making is of Sachin Tendulkar if he would have influenced by people he surrounded India or rather world would not have got such a great cricketer.

Also I agree to Dan's point when he talks about decisions that we take selecting when selecting clothes to wear, he said it an illusionary decision i.e. we don't make these decisions they come directly from us.

The example of doctors in Dan's video somehow related to me. As he said the doctors initially takes last decision of dose and then think this could have been better by prior test or medicines. I am an asthmatic patient. I had breathing problem 1 month so I decided to have a check up here in Pune the doctor took some of my test and told it’s a seasonal asthma and it would remain as it is and gave a dose of medicines accordingly and after coming to Kolhapur I again had a check up with a specialist here who told me that the dose I was taking is a highest dose and is affecting you and now he decided to take another test of me and started with a different vaccination that can cure my asthma. So the decision to do another test was difficult for me and was not in my control it was my parents who told to do this test. This example of pulling back was difficult for me as well as my doctor.

Well we all say that we make our decision thinking on that matter twice but reality many decisions are spontaneous and some we think before taking them. So some decision is in our control and some decisions are not in our control.
